What are Fake Eyelashes

If eyes are your windows to the soul, then maybe we can call eyelashes their pretty curtains, without which the view would be quite dull! Eyelashes do a lot in adding to the attraction of the eyes.

However, if nature has decided not to bless you with full natural eyelashes, the only solution is to stick them on artificially. False eyelashes are available in a large variety of densities and styles. It’s just a matter of learning and practice for your handling of false eyelashes like an expert.

Types of False Eyelashes

There are two types of false eyelashes available in the market.

The Full Set: The full set, which adds density to the eyelashes’ line and brings a whole new look to your face.

Individual Lashes: The individual lashes can be fit into areas where the density of eyelashes is very low and needs some thickness added. It opens up the eyes dramatically.

How to Apply Fake Eyelashes

It is much easier to apply full lashes, but this type does not give you the fully natural look. Individual lashes, on the other hand, need a defter and practiced hand and can enhance your looks beautifully.

Step 1:

False eyelashes can be applied either cleansed eyes or made-up eyes. It’s best to put on your foundation and do your eyebrows before you try your hand at false eyelashes. Draw a fine line just above your lash line with an eyeliner pencil in black or brown. Blend it a little into a smoky effect. Now apply a very fine coat of mascara to your upper lashes. Let it dry completely.

Step 2:

Now take your false lashes and trim its band to a very thin width so as to let it be as unnoticeable as possible. The width of your lash line is the ideal width to aim at. With a tooth pick apply a thin line of adhesive to the band. Wait till its ‘tacky’. Now press them on gently to your lash line, as close to it as you can manage, starting from the inner side to the outer side. Hold till set. Ignore a little glue showing, it will dry off.

Step 3:

Now curl the natural and false lashes together by the fingers into a same line. Deep eyeliner liquid can be used over them to blend the look. Avoid the mascara on the false lashes. But the lower lashes can do with a dab of mascara.

Step 4:

To take it off, soak in a little eye make up remover for a few seconds and gently ease off the lashes without pulling.

It’s best to make the occasions to use false lashes quite rare. The glue can give you irritation and eye infection can result from frequent use of adhesives on such a sensitive area.
